Je suis passé chez ma tante Nicole hier pour récupérer quelques vieilles photos de famille planquées au fond d’un placard de sa maison de la plage. La maison est à Guéthary au Pays Basque entre Biaritz et St Jean de Luz. J’en ai profité pour prendre quelques clichés à la volée de cette région de rêve. Je suis désolé qu’il y ait tant de photos, mais je n’ai pas eu le coeur de les trier. La première est celle de sa maison, les deux suivantes de mon arrière grand oncle Abel sur son bateau en Afrique avec ses “chats” et les autres de la côte et de l’intérieur des terres vers Ascain. J’aurais aimé connaitre l’oncle Abel. Il était un aventurier, amoureux des animaux et excellent cuisinier…

I went to my aunt Nicole’s yesterday to pick up some old family photos stashed at the bottom of a closet in her beach house. The house is in the Basque Country in Guéthary between Biaritz and St Jean de Luz (20mn from the Spanish border). I took some shots on the fly in this heavenly region. I’m sorry there are so many photos, but I did not have the heart to sort through them. The first is of Aunt Nicole’s house, the second and third of my great uncle Abel on his boat in Africa with his cats (they were part of the stash:0) I never knew my Uncle Abel, but he was a great adventurer, an animal lover and famous for his cooking too:0)
