(In English below)

Spring is here! Primroses have already been out for a few weeks, but they now cover the whole lawn. The flowers are there; so I’m happy. I just wish I had my neighbor’s cedar tree. It is so beautiful that the villa was named after it… We actually had a huge cedar tree in the driveway, but my dad wanted to fit more cars and got rid of it a few years back. I might just replant one at the very same spot just to spite him :0)

So yes, Spring has arrived with the paper fish in the backs of, oh so naïve brothers in law, fragrant violets and buds of all kinds and sizes… Everything is clean, fresh and full of hope. I shall start the Spring cleaning of the house tomorrow…

Pictures are gorgeous! I’m glad the sun is losing it’s strength and the trees are starting to change on this side of the globe!

I like spring, but I think fall is my favorite. I hate the summer… 🙂

It is funny how in the US everyone puts down fertilizer to get rid of what is really wild flowers in their yards, so we dont see wonderful yards full of flowers, just green and manicured. and if they aren’t their local home owners associations usually get after them to “clean up” the situation, and plant non-native flowers in their flower beds

That reminds me of a movie in which an old lady was paying a young boy to weed her garden. The boy asked her who decides what’s a weed and what’s not as he thought some of the weeds were as pretty as some of the flowers… The old lady could not answer…

    1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

C’est bien Hélène! On ne prend jamais assez le temps de se poser et d’apprécier les détails qui rendent la vie si belle… Vendredi, je prépare les foies gras pour le baptème de Théo. Je penserai à toi 😉

Thanks Becky! I like Autumn and Spring best… It’s also a great thing culinary wise, as I can use different ingredients in my cooking. I saw the first asparagus on Sunday at the market… 🙂

  9. Beautiful! Love the little blue fish on that guy’s back! Au revoir! Off to spend a little time in the sun. 🙂

Montréal me manque parfois. Quelle ville formidable…

I am enjoying the coming of Autumn here in Australia. The searing heat is gone, and the rain has washed away the dust. Now when I walk out into my garden the ground no longer crackles from the dessicated eucalyptus leaves. Enjoy!

    1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

Eucalyptus leaves remind me of Greece and California. I miss their incredible smell…

      1. acflory's avatar acflory says:

They are quite unique. I knew California had eucalypts but I didn’t know Greece has them too.

        1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

They were the first things I ever smoked when I was a kid and my dad took us to Greece on the boat every year… Memories…

          1. acflory's avatar acflory says:

-blinks- You smoked gum leaves? When I was a kid I remember trying to whistle with them but that’s it! lol

          2. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

Actually, up until a few years ago, they used to sell cigarettes made out of Eucalyptus leaves in pharmacies in France. They said it was good for the lungs LOL!

          3. acflory's avatar acflory says:

LMAO! Talk about misleading advertising! Although rubbing fresh gum leaves on your chest may possibly do some good. 😉

  12. Beautiful. It’s Autumn here so we are preparing for winter. Woke up this morning to torrential rain. Your post has literally brightened up my day.

    1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

I’m glad the post made your day! Remember there is great beauty in every season. Autumn is one of my favorites…

  13. Spring is being stubborn about staying around this year. We get warm days then bitter cold days. We were spoiled last year.

    1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

It’s touch and go here too. 3 or 4 beautiful days and then 1 day of rain… Winter was mild though and April tends to be really warm, sometimes really hot here…

      1. Summer will get very hot. I’m a spring and autumn fan. I don’t like the extremes.

        1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

Another thing we have in common! I am actually extremely allergic to the sun… My great grandma was from Transilvania (not kidding). It is the vempire in me I guess…

          1. If I get too much sun I get a rash. Ugh. Hats and sunscreen. It’s not so bad I can’t go out into it but I have to be careful. First happened in Greece with the hot sun. Transilvania? That must make for some interesting conversations. 🙂

          2. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

            It really does 🙂

  14. I really enjoy your posts and perspective! Happy Spring from Los Angeles, California, USA :>)

      Thanks! Happy spring!!

  15. Steve's avatar Steve says:

Here too!!!! Minus 4C today! Almost shorts weather.

    1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

Considering where you live, minus 4 isn’t that bad 😉 I remember once, in Montréal, walking back from a New Year’s eve party by minus 42! It was so dry, I barely felt the cold…

  16. Leilani's avatar Leilani says:

Sigh! Life just sounds better when narrated in French. (MUST LEARN FRENCH! MUST LEARN FRENCH!!)

    1. My French Heaven's avatar My French Heaven says:

I wouldn’t know, but I trust your judgement Leilani 😉
