My dear friends, I need your expertise!
If you have been following My French Heaven, you know that what I enjoy most in life, what makes me come most alive, is sharing my love for France, our culture, our way of life, our culinary traditions…
While I have been doing this on the blog – this is my 300th post – I am now doing it more and more often in real life with my fellow Bloggers and guests. In 2013, I have had the pleasure of sharing my French heaven with my darling Melanie, Joe, Francesca & Stefano, Tom, Maggie and many others. In 2014 it will be my dear Mimi and her lovely daughter Emma, Christine, Jean & Patrick…
All this to say that I am now presenting these foodie adventures in a new website called – wait for it – YOUR French Heaven :0) at www.yourfrenchheaven.com
And here is where I need your help and expertise: would some of you be kind enough to go take a look and tell me what you think of the web site? Do you like its look? How does it feel? Is it easy to navigate? Does it have all the info one might need? etc.
I only trust my fellow bloggers with this!
Thanks a million!!
Beautiful photographs, the new site looks and feels amazing, simple to navigate, hope you’ve added the right tags for it to show up in organic search…makes me wanna make a trip to France right away! That’s what the site needs to achieve, right?
Absolutely right! Thanks so much for taking the time to give me your feedback. It means a lot!!
Great new website Stephane! Will be looking at it further and will let you know any further thoughts I have. But by first glance I love the navigation and the use of your beautiful images. I also am very excited about the Foodie Days. My husband will definitely need to take advantage of that when we visit France a few years from now!
Kenley
Thanks Kenley! I hope I do get to meet your husband someday and I do hope you’ll come with him! 😉
Very nice! I am excited for you and to see your dreams taking shape. I can see why your blog posts have not been as frequent- you have been busy! You are on my “to do before I am gone” list, not this year, but hopefully in 2015 I will be coming to see you. As always, I love your posts and photos and I love the website.
Thank you so much Holly! Your opinion really matters to me!
Fantastic idea, Stephane! I love the website – it’s beautiful, easy to navigate and makes me want to jump on a plane! 🙂 Congratulations and best wishes always!
Thank you so much Lesley! I hope I’ll get to welcome you here someday! 😉
Same here, Stephane! 🙂
Hi, I just found your blog and I think it is fantastic! Your photos are beautiful, and making me want to book a trip to France 🙂
I am so glad you like it! I really like your blog as well, especially the theme you are using. It is very clear and very classy… Great to have you here 😉 🙂
Oh wow! Love it! Will that site replace this site? I’m all for either!
Thanks Julia! No, the new site is to showcase the foodie adventures I wish to sell. I just didn’t want anything commercial on the original blog… I am so glad you like it 😉
You will be filling an important niche. I plan to take advantage of it sometime soon!
I hope so! It will be such a pleasure meeting you at long last 🙂
Stephan,
I found the website to be charming and informative! What people want about any place they hope to visit is information. I think you provided it clearly and concisely. The photos were beautiful and really provided a wonderful backdrop for where the guest would actually be staying. Nicely done! Joe
Thanks Joe! Lots of people tell me it’s easy to navigate and the info comes accross well. It’s all I wanted to achieve. Thanks a lot!
You are an artist!!! Every “click” is a window to a new discovery. I am very excited for you…
Thank you so much my dear! Your opinion matters a lot to me!
Your new website is absolument merveilleux! Love the photos of the cheese tasting. Yummy!
😉 🙂
I think it’s perfect just the way it is!
Cool! Thank you so much! I was looking forward to your feedback my dear!
Well done!! No more words : it’s really well made and makes you feel like to be there with you, already there wothout having being there, so..I think you reached the point.
I will send you some friends soon and hope to visit you one day and sharing all your Paradise with you! Goodluck
I cannot wait Michela! Thanks for your continued friendship and readership 😉
Absolutely stunning photography and your new blog shows it off extremely well.
Gosh, if I ever get to taking photos even a 1/10th as good, I’ll die happy. Makes me want to jump on a plane and fly right over to indulge in the French Experience – French language is more than a little rusty though.
Guess I’ll just have to be satisfied with viewing your Blogs.
No need to speak French Vicky! Come on over!! As for photos, it just takes practice and lots and lots of shots. I have no more talent than anybody else, it’s just that I love it so much. Just go see the pictures on the blog only a year ago to see how crap I was 😉
Love the new website. The photos are amazing and just make you want to drop everything to come and visit. I wish you well on your new venture!
Thank you so very much for your kind comment!! 🙂
Stephane you are a magician… THose pics are amazing!! loved the new website and shall drop in a line soon :).. Congratulations on the 300 post mate
Thank you so much my friend! You know your mint sauce recipe has become very popular in the family. We now make it every time we have lamb. Not everybody uses it, but I always do 🙂
Hey Stephane! thanks mate.. Nice to know that the recipe has been liked by your family.. 🙂
Btw I just completed a year of blogging. Here is the post incase you missed it
http://thetummytale.wordpress.com/2013/11/07/citrus-and-chilli-cheesecake-celebrating-one-year-of-blogging/
Thank you for all the support and friendship. 🙂
Well, cheesecake is certainly a great way to celebrate. Congratulations!!!
The website is great, I like it. Very easy to get around. Make sure you include a link to it on each blog. Love your blogs.
Thanks Sandra! I certainly will. I enjoy having fellow bloggers visit and I will do everything I can to tempt them to do so 😉 I hope YOU will do me the honor of visiting someday 🙂
It’s wonderful Stephane! Visually stunning, with your beautiful photos to draw people in. I feel that you’ve covered everything in a concise and easy to navigate format! LOVE to come and explore this magical part of the world. Wishing you all the very best, Margot
My darling Margot, you are so kind. I hope you do come and visit someday 😉
Your new site is gorgeous and a wonderful idea! I always look forward to your posts and beautiful photographs of a beautiful part of the world
Kindest regards
Veronica Montagnol
Thank you so much Veronica! I am so glad you like it 🙂
Great layout!
Thanks! I think simple is always best 😉
Stephane, the “your French Heaven” site is easy to navigate and very tempting!! I agree with a previous comment that you should include your accommodation on a separate tab, a come stay and play feature and perhaps an all inclusive price. We’ll visit when next in Europe. 😄
Thank you so much for your feedback. You are one of my most loyal readers and so it means a lot coming from you! I will look into your suggestions. The seperate B&B tab is a great idea and I will also add a tab just about Bordeaux… Thanks again!!
Congratulations! Clearly your vision is exactly what we all crave to follow / visit / cook / live!
Thanks darling! 🙂 🙂
It’s stunning!
Thanks! I really kind of like it myself 😉 🙂
Oh Dear, you’re not going to leave us eh?
I think your brand new website is ‘simple’ (that is positive in my opinion) and fresh with clear categories, easy to navegate, even if you can’t find your pair of glasses… I would probably make the background slightly softer. Does it have to be ‘bolled egg’- white? By the way, we are still planning to visit your place…once…well, that would be a dream. I am happy to know your ‘real and heavenly French life’ is working out well!!!
Un abrazo fuerte, Rosa
Thanks Rosa! I hope you do come visit!! Un abrazo fuerte to you too 😉
That will be terrible for you, you will appear in drawings. 🙂
Are you kidding?! I’d be honored 😉
Looks fantastic, Stephane! So nice to visit with you again.
Thanks Tamara 😉
Sigh. Some day I’ll get there. Love the new website. That would be a perfect holiday for me and my husband. How do we find out about the costs of the foodie days, farmer’s markets, wine tasting, etc?
It would be such a treat to finally meet you in person. The details about the costs of the Foodie Days are under the “purchase a foodie day” tab 🙂
I’ll check it out, thanks. 🙂 This trip is on our list, it’s just a question of when. We have a long bucket list!
Congrats on the launch of YFH. It’ll be paradise, just like your blog. One of these days, I’ll be back to your B&B. À bientôt mon ami.
I sure hope so my friend!
I love it so much that i think I just fainted!! It gave me goosebumps and I am so very happy and excited for you and all your pursuits. The blog itself: I love the clean lines and bright colors and the fact that the background is white instead of a dark color. The grid layout allows me to enjoy all you have to share without getting overwhelmed. (though I don’t mind getting overwhelmed by you lovely French life.) 🙂
You are too kind Leilani!! I am so glad you like it. It means a lot!
I think it looks beautiful (on mobile which is how I’m viewing it at the moment) and the stark layout really lets your beautiful photos shine!
Thank you Sonya! The website I used to build it all is called Squarespace and it creates incredible portable versions indeed. Thanks a million!
I love it! I think it is very professional looking and the photos are gorgeous. As a proofreader, I see some grammar and spelling errors. If you want me to list them, I can. Let me know.
Are you kidding? I would LOVE to get your corrections Annie!!!! I don’t want to make you work though…
Oh, not a problem, I’m happy to help :-).
1. Under the title, About Me: 4th paragraph – “the place I were I was born” – I think you wanted to say “the place where I was born”
2. Under Reservation Process: foodie Days should be “Foodie Days”
3. Under The Farmers’ Market: “each with it’s own unique” – “it’s” is a possessive pronoun – type it as “its”
4. Again under The Farmers’ Market: “They even sale cattle there” – “sale” should be “sell”
5. Under Stay With Me: the sentence that says “that way …. to start of each one of foodie days” Doesn’t make sense, did you mean to say “to the start of each one of foodie days” or “to start off each one of the foodie days”
6. Under Brocantes & Antique Shopping: the sentence “France …. it’s” Again, it’s should be “its”
7. Again, under Brocantes & Antique Shopping: “follow this link to a post I wrote about it on my blog” doesn’t make sense. Should it say “follow this link to a post – I wrote about it on my blog”
8. How Clients Become Friends: The sentence that starts off as “Is is the best way …. change it to “It is” ….
9. My Favorite Restaurants: “proposing dinning options” – dinning should be “dining”
10. Under Cheese Tasting: the end of the sentence needs a period ( . ) where it says … spread it on).
I think that’s it, unless I’ve missed something! Sorry this is so long!
Dear God Annie! You are so fast! I cannot tell you how greatful I am!!! That is one free weekend for two at the B&B if you ever decide to come visit 😉 I don’t know how to thank you. All of these mistakes were so obvious. I am quite ashamed 😉 I think the more you read something, the less you are able see the typos…
You’re so welcome! I just really enjoyed reading about your website, but proofreading is something I naturally lapse into when I read. I would love to visit!! Thanks so much!
See you soon then 😉 And thanks again!!
Ok 😉
My daughter moved to Germany last August and I hope to visit her in Spring or Summer of 2014. So, maybe I can visit then! 🙂
That would be grand! Just let me know a little bit in advance 😉 🙂
Congratulations on your 300th post Stephane (I’m approaching 350!), and on your new website. It’s lovely and easy to navigate. I wish you all the best success in your Foodie Days venture, and perhaps we’ll see you one of these days in le sud!
Le Sud will be waiting my dear friend! 😉
It is wonderful – The photos, wording and layout are just perfect for what you want to be expressing !! If I could I would be there in a minute to experience it all first hand, but alas, I shall just have to endure your delicious photos and beautiful wording until such time comes around
India xx
Thanks Alex. I would so love to finally meet you and maybe your wonderful parents as well… 😉
Congratulations on your 300th post! The website looks lovely!
Thank you Isabel! It means a lot 😉
New website is glorious…images are to gobble up♥
Thanks! It’s great to get a real photographer’s opinion 😉
A beautiful site that I will be sharing with friends. 😉
Thank you so much dear Cynthia!!
Very good looking another French Heaven ! The Foodies Days are so tempting 🙂
Well I hope you’ll indulge someday Olivia! It would be such a treat to meet you in real life 😉 🙂
Hiii ! The website is clear, neat and classy. Beautiful images… I love it !
Thank you so much! Coming from you, it means a lot!! 🙂
Stéphane, the website is a visual feast – absolutely divine – there’s no other word for it. It is so clean, professional and very easy to navigate. It may be nice to include a map of the Bordeaux region? P
Thanks Patsy! That is a great idea. I will add a tab on Bordeaux in the menu. I really appreciate your help with this!! 😉
Congratulations on your 300th post and what beautiful images it contains! I’m off now to have a look at your new website and wish you all the best. Patsy
The website looks brilliant! Just need to plan a trip…
Yes you do Rachel 😉 Thanks for the positive feedback!!
Heaven indeed!
Nice new website. While you have the foodie days and prices at the time, one has to search for the cost of staying with you rather than another location in the area. I would suggest you add another page at the top to provide the info on staying with you as well.
Thank you Cathy! I will look into that. I really appreciate you helping me! 😉
Hi Stephane,
It looks amazing – lovely pictures, informative headings, very easy to navigate. You can’t improve on perfection, so they say, but I would have liked to see an expanded version of your biography, similar to that on the blog. Good luck with your latest venture.
I agree Linda. The bio could ve a litle more detailed… I will work on that. Thanks for the great feedback 😉
No problem, the very best of luck.
I think the new blog is beautiful. It’s filled with your gorgeous photos and is easy to navigate. It has a nice, clean look. And I’m hopeful, since there’s a link to this blog at the top, that this more intimate blog will still be in existence! Well done!
janet
Thanks Janet! Yes, the blog will still go on. The website is just a platform to sell the Foodie Days. I don’t want anything commercial on the blog. It needs to remain personal and intimate. 🙂
Then I think you have the perfect division.
J’adore !
Bises!
