My French Heaven.

Le monsieur très chic et très appliqué dans le montage photo est notre fromager Pierre Rollet-Gérard (prg3@wanadoo.fr- 06 78 92 26 26). Sa boutique est au 43 cours Portal à Bordeaux.

At 11 this morning, unable to wait for the fog to lift any longer, I went to the market. The photos are far from perfect, but I think they reflect the atmosphere quite well. The first one (my grandmother and my aunt) was taken in 1947. It shows that nothing has changed: the same arches, the same wooden crates, old ladies on their bicycles… My French Heaven:0)

The very chic and focused gentleman in the photo montage is our cheesemonger Pierre. Numériser 105 _SnapseedIMG_1465 _SnapseedIMG_1483 _SnapseedImage 09-12-12 à 14.52IMG_1467 _SnapseedIMG_1501 _SnapseedIMG_1484 _SnapseedUntitledIMG_1506 _SnapseedIMG_1516 _SnapseedIMG_8911 _SnapseedIMG_1579 _Snapseed

Lyon is such a beautiful city!! I lived there for a while when I was younger. You need to come back and try the South West of the country this time:0)

I’ll land you mine! We could start a cheesemonger and butcher rental agency… (sorry, I just woke up and my sense of humour is still in bed…)

Sometimes the fog can add a lot of visual interest, as is evident in these photos 🙂 Love the textures you added too.

Thanks! I always hesitate tempering with the pictures, but when they suck, you have to do something:0)

I wish I were there! Your oyster photo looks moist and fresh and good enough to eat right off the page. Thank you for teaching me a new word, le brouillard. Pensacola is also experiencing le brouillard ce matin. 🙂

    1. My French Heaven says:

I used to live in New Orleans and I loved Pensacola!

You’re so lucky to have a good food market close to you. Looks gorgeous. We have one on a Saturday morning in the next village but it’s very small. As long as the cheese van is there I don’t care! The local Pyrenees cheeses are so good from there.

    1. My French Heaven says:

Pyrenees cheese is my favorite! More specifically the Basque cheeses… You need to come over one Sunday so we can go together:0)
