First let me apologize for the splash of color today. It is quite loud and quite out of character for My French Heaven. Spring is here and with it the sun, the birds and the primroses on my lawn. I just feel happy and couldn’t resist…
I also wanted to share with you the incredible work of one of my favorite pastry chefs in town. He worked in New York for many many years and settled here a few years back with his lovely family. I will introduce him to you when you come visit and we go to the market…
Most amazing looking pastries I’ve seen! My mouth is watering!
September’s coming!!!
Tsk. Tsk. Now why would you think you ever need to apologize for color? Especially if it were motivated by happiness? That is just silly talk! Sometimes it is just the right thing to “be out of character”! Cheers. š
All right then darling!
Great photos. I think the colors are in good taste š
Thanks! I’ve always been a little scared of bright colors š
For some reason I’m thinking of Easter. After a mild winter spring is arriving early in this part of Scotland, and it’s so good to see everything coming to life.
Hi Dorothy. I do agree, these colors remind me of Easter as well. A little loud they are š Speaking of color and Scotland, I remember a trip I took there many many years ago. The hills were purple, covered with heather… You live in such a pretty country!!!
Your splashes of color are wonderful and I’m sure they brighten the day for many people who are still experiencing winter and yearning for some color in their landscape.
I am so glad I could bring a little bit of color to your life Lulu! Or do you go by Linda? I never know… If I have a doughtier one day, I will call her Lulu!!!
Increasingly, I am called Lulu which is my grandmother name. Somehow, people have adopted it thinking it fits me. Actually, I love the name.
How lovely…and ‘nothing is as lovely as spring when weeds in wheels shoot long and lovely and lush.’ (With apologies to Gerald Manley Hopkins). No weeds to be seen here though! Those cakes look like little works of art.:)
Oh thank you so much! š
Plaisir des yeux et plaisir des papilles!
Miam-miam!
š
I colori sono bellissimi, come Primavera.
Primavera! My favorites!! š
A splash of colour is always good my friend…
You should be apologizing for making me SO HUNGRY for fabulous little decadent pastries not the gorgeous colorful pictures! š
For that I won’t š It’s my job after all š
Certainment! š
You made me feel hopeful for Spring. I could almost taste your pastries.
I’m so glad Sandra! Yep, it’s all about sweetness these days š š

I love the infusion of spring in this post! Spring fever is upon us all and quite contagious! Beautiful shots!
Jessica
Contagious is the perfect word for it Jessica. It is so funny to see people around me being cheerful and happy all of the sudden…
Your colour is divine and uplifting… thank you for sharing a part of your spring.
You are most welcome Leah! Thanks for dropping by š
Oh seeing these buds and little sweets brightened my day. š No appologies needed.
Good! Mission accomplished then š š
Now if I could only jump through the screen and take a bite š
Don’t hurt your head! š

I’m happy to see the leaves changing brilliant red here in Melbourne, at long last the days are cooling, but in this funny upside down world, if those gorgeous little cakes taste as good as they look who cares about the weather. The camera of your dreams? Do tell! I really admire your photographic work Stephane, you have a wonderful eye and the camera only captures what you see!
You are way too kind my dear Sandra. The camera is the Canon 5D Mark III. It really is and incredible tool. I’ve had it for 2 weeks and I’m still trying to learn how to operate it perfectly. With a camera like this, I can’t blame the tools for bad pictures anymore. It will help me reach the next level I hope š
When we meet Stephane you will realize It’s not in my nature to flatter lightly, my praise is genuine!! Just had a quick look at your new toy on line, looks like it will complement your keen eye perfectly.
You always make me feel so special Sandra! I can’t wait for the day we’ll finally meet and make tartare together š
One day……..tartare, yes, definitely your salmon tartare!!
I want to come visit!! My next French trip, for sure!!
You should dear Mary! Can’t wait! š I love gardening too š
Oooh la la ! Magnifique !
Wonderful, every thing looks so lovely. I love the dog photo as an aside – mine looks very similar.
It’s my nephew’s new puppy. Her name is IsĆØre š
lovely. a wonderful cure for the winter blues I’ve had here in Pennsylvania where the snow has finally mostly melted.
It’s coming my dear, it’s coming… š
Lovely combinations – flowers and pastries – my mouth is watering and I’m woozy from smelling all the Spring flowers! Those pastries look so delicious!! No apology is needed when we feel happy – my wish for the world is that everyone can choose to find happiness where ever they are. I also believe that by spreading those simple loves of life – that maybe others can find beauty in simplicity too.
I’ll take you to this shop Friday. I’ll have you compare both of my favorite patisseries. š
Lovely, lovely, lovely, Stephane! About 5″ of wet, heavy snow last night which looks astonishingly beautiful. Winter can feel the warm breath of spring and is attempting to fight back. But spring will win soon. I’m so looking forward to the flowers.
janet
Spring always wins darling Janet! š
Gorgeous photos – isn’t it great to be having some sun?
It certainly is! š

Glad that it’s spring over there! Huge snowstorm again in Toronto and -15 here, no sign of spring! š¦
Oh I feel so bad now… I guess you’ll have to come over here for a visit and forget about Winter for a while š
Your colourful post made me happy though, because all I’ve been seeing is white all day š
I’m so glad Annie! But I know how you alway carry color everywhere you go š
Absolutely stunning shots!
Thanks a lot! It means a lot coming from you!
No apologies needed! Stunning photos and just right to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons. It’s all about new beginings and transformation… š
Lovely, Stephane!
Thank you Tamara! It sure feels good to feel some sun… š
We had sunshine yesterday–lovely and warm. Dark skies today–windy and cold. Wherefore did thou go spring? Ah, should be back on Friday š
