With close to 11000 châteaux and more than 20000 wines around the B&B, you could stay with me for years and never have the same wine for dinner twice :0) Saint-Emilion alone is the size of Burgundy!
So, as I was saying, I have rooms, and breakfast is waiting for you by the pool! When are you coming to visit?
What I love about this part of the country is how the old and the new work so well together. There are fantastic new restaurants in the vineyard and great shopping everywhere, but also properties that have been making wine for over 2000 years… There are beautiful people and gorgeous Farmers’ markets, there are…
OK, I’ll give you a few days to figure out your travel arrangements!
But seriously, I am so looking forward to welcoming you here someday. My work is my passion and my passion, well, is my work. There is nothing that I love more than sharing my love for Bordeaux with fellow bloggers and foodies who I know will appreciate every bit of it at least as much as I do!
See you soon!
What a wonderful blog..full gorgeous photos especially of your area. I hope to visit one day soon!
I hope you do Marie! 😉
Everything in this blog is…..beautiful.
You are too kind Mitzi! 😉
So beautiful! I just love your photographs….stunning!
Thank you!!!
By far this is the most beautiful blog I have ever seen. I am mesmerized
T’as même intéret!
A+
A Lundi certainement !
Looks as if you’ll be fully booked. It looks so lovely…and so attractive. Wonder who flies from here to Bordeaux?
Quel paysage! Et vous, un esprit authentique et sensible. Merci bien.
Counting the days and so excited to come!
Ahhh, so incredibly beautiful. And you are the most generous of hosts, I am convinced. Lovely.
I can honestly say I will absolutely get there!
Great! A diva is my home. Finally!! The château will be ready for you 😉
Thank you for the invitation. As vegans, we would be kinda picky guests… but we are economical… some fresh fruits and veggies and we are good to go 🙂 Just to visit the country and beautiful scenery… it would be enough!
We have wonderful organic produce here. Cooking vegan would be a nice new challenge for me 😉 Come on over dear Milica! 😀
Now that sounds like an offer I can’t refuse 🙂
Then don’t dear Marie!! 😉 Hope to meet you for real someday soon!!! We don’t have the great smoked fish you guys have, but I like to think that our other food specialties will enchant your taste buds 😉
If i visit your place, I might pray that time will stop. I hope I can see you SOON!!!
What do you mean “if”? Just kidding! When you come, we’ll do some of the dark magic I learned while living in Louisiana years ago. We’ll stop time! 😀
Sounds great! ^^
My husband and I laid in bed this Sunday morning before getting up to leave for breakfast, just checking out the gorgeous photographs and stories on your blog. You’re not only on our bookmarks for travel, but definitely where we’ll plan to stay when we journey next year to that portion of Europe 🙂
OK, I must say that the first few words of your lovely comment scared me a little bit 😀 Then of course i read on and all was well 😉 I hope to meet you guys here soon!!! You’d love it here. So many things to do and eat… AND DRINK 😉
I would never leave! It’s so beautiful.. 🙂
Who said anything about leaving ? 😉
I don’t even know how you find the time to blog and take your wonderful photos, but I’m so thankful you do! One day I will make it there and I can be awestruck in person. 🙂
I don’t either dear Lesley;) Right now I have to answer 72 comments from readers. I love to do it, but it takes a lot of time. As the blog is getting more readers, the number of comments increases dramatically and I don’t know how I’ll be able to manage… I guess there are much worse problems in the world 😉 🙂 Can’t wait to meet you in person and share everything I love with you!!!
You are so blessed with talent and a huge heart, and there are obviously thousands of us who recognize that. Very few people have touched me the way you and your photos and your stories have. I look forward to meeting you and experiencing even a moment of what you experience every day. Push forth with your dreams – I am rooting for you every single day.
I just commented to another reader that she had made my day, but you, dear Lesley MADE MY DAY! I cannot wait to welcome you here someday. In the meantime we’ll have to make do with our virtual friendship (if there is such a thing… I think friendship is friendship, whatever the vessel…) 😀
Friendship is definitely friendship, no matter the vessel! 🙂 I fear that when we finally meet, you’ll be surrounded by paparazzi and I’ll only get to wave to you from afar! ❤
Si enchanteur – did I get that right? Your photographs are exquisite. And I WILL visit!
You got it perfectly my dear! Hope to see you soon 😉
Ah, idyllic.
I like to think so… 🙂
We plan to come. Hang on. We will be there within the next year or two and I cannot wait!
I can’t either! It’s always so wonderful to meet my blogging friends. Especially the ones, like you, who have been there from the beginning of My French Heaven…
Looks amazing. Bordeaux is right up near the top of places I’d like to visit in the world
I hope you get to come soon. Bordeaux is truly amazing. There are so many things to do and taste 🙂
You do issue a tempting invitation and the Bordeaux region is one we’ve not visited.
You have got to visit Lulu! You’d love this part of France!!!
I’m really contemplating the family trip to France for the next June… I might actually reach out to you to ask a few questions. And when you are in NYC area, you have a mandatory visit in CT. I live in a very close proximity to Stefano and Francesca, and we will be very happy to host you!
Stefano and Francesca are such nice people. I hope Stefano works a little less these days… NYC is my favorite city in the world. I hope to visit next year. It will all depend on finances (as always)…
Beautiful. That pool looks so inviting … I have visited Bordeaux a couple of times but it would be lovely to see it in your company some day.
Someday it is then dear Linda! 😉
I wish you wrote this before I made my travel plans! Oh well, next time…
Are you in France right now Samantha? Next time it is! 🙂
Been and gone 😦 But I loved it so much, am determined to return! What a beautiful country you live in 🙂
I need to get a job that provides me some income!!!!!! I so want to visit!
You and me both! I am long overdue for a nice long trip to the US! 😉 I need to start playing the lottery… 🙂
Me too!
Everything looks so beautiful…definitely am planning to come someday!
I’ll be waiting dear Laila!!
Unfortunately, we can’t make it now, but we’ll suffer through Burgundy instead. 🙂 This is our first morning and we’re moving a bit slowly after a day of travel and trying to stay awake, topped with a late World Cup game. So far, so good! Now to take photos. 🙂
janet
I like small and unique accommodation, no big bland hotels for me. One day soon we’ll meet….
Beautiful – I can personally recommend a stay at Stephane’s!! We have lovely memories of our stay there, riding our bikes around St Emilion and beyond, everything is so beautiful!! Everybody should go there at least once in their life 😀
And the award for my best sales person goes to… You are very kind my dear!!!
I’m actually coming to France just for a trip through wine country next summer! We haven’t decided on all our destinations yet, but yours is certainly one! Beautiful! Can’t wait to visit!
I hope you do decide to come to Bordeaux. I know I’m biassed, but it is the premier wine region of Europe. You’d love it; I promise 😉
Oh we wouldn’t miss Bordeaux! We will let you know our definite travel plans when they are set!
I’m such a gypsy! If I could figure out how to make a living and move to France I would pack up lock, stock and barrel! Just gorgeous!! 🙂
Figure it out Gipsy! I’ll see you soon! 😉
Working on it! 🙂
Um, when can I move in? mdr 😀
I love Lyon and Paris, but have yet to experience Bordeaux 🙂
Lyon is another favorite of mine. Probably the best food in France… You’d absolutely fall in love with Bordeaux though, especially if you like wine… See you soon 😉
Any time! 😉
While we’re wherever-we-are-bound, the next best thing is a visit to My French Heaven, when you give us a titbits like this – and especially shots like the first and last – edited, or shot (?) combining old and new – just wonderful – evocative and very romantic.
So glad you liked it. Yes, I have as much fun sharing on the blog as I have in real life (almost) 😉
Belles photos. Belle cuisine. Beaux vins.
Ce n’est pas un problème! Ma meilleure amie est agent immobilier 😉 We’ll find you a nice little house in the middle of the vineyard 😉
Dreamy. Par chance, connaissez vous la famille Estrade?
Malheureusement non… 😦
I’m not sure when I’ll manage a visit, and when I do I’m not sure if I will be able to leave.
That’s my goal! You could stay for ever you know. 😉
Beautiful photos!
Thanks Sophie!!
It all looks gorgeous and, of course, extremely tasteful Stéphane! Is that your wine cellar I wonder? We have a typical English wine cellar, it is completely empty – no good wine ever hangs around long enough to be stored away there!
No, I don’t have a cellar per say. This photo was taken at a lovely family owned château not far from us called Cardinal Villemaurine. Charming little property…
What a beautiful place to live and how wonderful to share it in the way you do.
Thank you so much! It’s all useless unless it’s shared with people who can appreciate it 😉 I have the feeling you are one such person 🙂
Oh I would love it, Stephane. Maybe one day 🙂
I certainly hope so! In the meantime, we have our virtual lives to keep us dreaming 😉
One day. That would be so lovely. Come say hi if you’re in NYC!
NYC is on my list for my trip across the US next year Amanda! My favorite city in the world… by far!
Living the dream 🙂
Trying to dear Sara. Not easy every day though…
Beautiful!
Thanks Mimi! Of course you know the place quite well 😉
Some day……..
I hope my dear! I hope!
I’ve not been to your region, but would love to come! I’ve felt like a trip is way overdo for the last 2 yrs. My French grammar, and vocab suffers from it too. 😦
When you’re in the Bay Area it would be fun to see you, hang out, do some photography, and eat. I’m only south of San Francisco. Send me a note if you have time.
I would love to visit you! I used to work at The Ritz in Half Moon Bay. Are you far from there? That’s probably where I’ll stay on my way up…
I’m in the South Bay so about an hour away. HMB is a great place to hang out. Let me know when you’re going to be there, and if you have spare time to hang out.
I certainly will. Thanks!
It really does look like this…..but even better! And we loved Le Tertre; what a fabulous place – although you almost need grappling hooks and rope to get down what I believe must be the steepest street in any French city!
It is indeed quite steep 😉 😀
Oh I would be there in a heartbeat if I could! Soon! Bordeaux looks so beautiful!
It is indeed a very special place 😉 I hope we’ll get to meet for real one day! 😉
Definitely on the list! It looks/sounds absolutely wonderful!
Thanks Mary!! 😀
Love the look of the photographs! Some day I will join you . . . ;->
Virtual hugs,
Judie
I hope you do dear judie! It would be such a pleasure to finally meet you in person 🙂
Where in the US will you be visiting? We are way off the main track now – SE corner of Arizona.
It’s almost ideal then, as I want to take a whole month to do route 66 with extra day trips up and down the map to visit my friends and fellow bloggers in Louisiana, New York, Oklahoma and even Montana. Once in LA, I’ll take Highway one up the coast to visit my friends in San Francisco too… I cannot wait!!!
That’s very ambitious a route for 30 days. Not sure how much you will be able to squeeze in. Montana, New York, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Los Angeles – woooo – all quite a distance from each other – almost 5000 miles of driving from New York to Montana.
Google maps routing:
http://goo.gl/maps/hK37G
The closest you will come on Route 66 to our house is Holbrook, Arizona. We go to Flagstaff sometimes, so if you get that far, we could plan a meet up. Wouldn’t that be grand? ;->
Quite ambitious I know. It’s just that there are so many amazing States I never got a chance to visit when I lived there. If only the country wasn’t so damn big and beautiful… 😉
Bonne chance!
Montana is definitely on my list Sophie. So many movies are set there. It’s part of the postcard i have in my head; If so many billionaires and movie stars have ranches there, there must be a reason! 😉
Yes, there is a reason, it’s gorgeous, quiet, and nature knocks on our back door. You’re welcome to knock on my front door anytime.:)
You are so kind dear Barbie! Montana, here I come!… soon 😉
Sigh. Trying to resist the temptation of your B&B, breakfast, and wine. Wish I were more of a traveler and didn’t give a second thought to packing up my family and hopping on a plane 🙂
One day maybe… I certainly hope so! I am planning a long vacation in the US next year. Maybe I’ll come say high instead 😉
