Fierté Française – France’s Pride

Ah nos fromages Français! Le premier nous vient de Savoie et porte le nom des allobroges. Le dernier, parce qu’il est beau et qu’il ne faut pas être chauvins, est un Cheddar Anglais.

Ah French cheese! There are over 350 kinds of cheese in France. Our very own Général De Gaulle was famous for his quote: “How can one lead a country that has 300 different kinds of cheese?”. The one here is made out of cow milk and comes from the Savoie region (French alps) and the last one, because it is very photogenic and I am not a chauvinist :0) is a good old British Cheddar…

    Ah la Savoie 🙂 ses fromages emblematiques, ses produits laitiers comme je n’en ai trouvé nul part ailleurs encore (crème fraiche d’été à la coopérative par exemple …) puis la montagne et les lacs … merci de rendre hommage à ces produits et leur région !
    …c’est bon d’être chauvin parfois …

      Absolument! Je n’ai jamais visité la région, mais leurs fromages me font voyager un peu à chaque fois. Surtout qu’une partie de ma famille descend directement des Allobroges! C’est même inscrit sur leur carte d’identité juste après leur nom:0) Ah les traditions! Tu as raison, c’est bon un peu de chauvinisme:0)

      I remember when I lived in the states, especially in San Francisco, that whole foods had some good cheese selections. They are some of the only ones to import non-pasteurized cheese. It is lovely to have your comments as usual. Have a good day my dear!
